Bath

We spent Sunday in Bath which was the main purpose of the weekend but we were unable to stay in Bath as there was no affordable accommodation. We absolutely loved it, very busy and loads of tourists. It felt very European. Below is Bath Abbey - we couldn't go inside on a Sunday unless we attended a service. There are lots of great shops amongst the beautiful architecture.

The famous Roman Baths, they were smaller than we expected but very interesting. The water is very warm and comes from a thermal spring below. Although nobody bathes in it anymore the water is still flowing just as it was then, and drains into the River Avon.

Bradford On Avon

Another village we visited was Bradford on Avon. The buildings were so gorgeous and some really on a slant these days! We thought The Bridge was worth a photo - so English. It was a tearoom/restaurant with waitresses dressed up in period clothing and served proper afternoon teas. We didn't eat there but plan to soon experience a proper English afternoon tea, perhaps we might head to The Ritz in London!

Stonehenge

We visited the famous Stonehenge in England. There were hundreds of tourists there. Nobody really knows what Stonehenge was built for centuries ago but it is one of England's most popular tourist attractions. It was really hot this day - we changed into shorts!

Corsham & Surrounds

Last weekend we went to England! We stayed in a small village called Corsham which is in Wiltshire (southern Cotwolds region). We stayed at The Methuen Arms hotel (below) which was great except for the loud Americans on a tour!

We spent a morning driving around between gorgeous villages, below is Lacock - a village where parts of Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice were filmed. The streets are so cute and all the houses and buildings so old! The cows below were in the field at the end of the main street in Lacock.
